Conservation of Native Biodiversity
Thanks to the keen eye of Dr.Ranil Senanayake we at Belipola Arboretum are implementing real life practice in saving native biodiversity.
Pictures are of a rare and old native orchid rescued by EarthRestoraion crew. This is happening in a rare and tiny 'native forest patch' we were passing on the side of the road.
The orchid was being strangled by a native creeper that had more opportunity given the scope of the remnant patch.
So we saved it from this imminent death!
The point being,
these patches are rare & the orchids even more rare.
If not for the "eye and the knowledge", this little of what's left of our "native biodiversity" would be lost.
Can we look after our earth the way our masters can?
You can participate in hands on conservation at Belipola Arboretum, the surrounding vicinity and at our ongoing restoration sites. Together with our partners we propose an alternative economy based on contributing health and sustainability to our Global Commons.
